The Table Tennis Federation of the Republic of Moldova — international experience and new opportunities for the development of the sport
From 19 August to 9 September 2026 a delegation of the Table Tennis Federation of the Republic of Moldova, led by the federation's president Oleg Șaric, took part in the People's Republic of China in the international programme “Seminar on promoting sporting exchanges and cooperation with the countries of Central Asia”, held under the China Aid programme.
The delegation was made up of Oleg Șaric, Natalia Prohorovici, Mihai Adam, Arsenii Iacubenco and Victor Rauh.
Over the course of the programme the federation's representatives were able to study China's experience in developing sport for children and juniors, in preparing high-performance athletes and in sports management.
The delegation visited sports schools, training centres and sports bases, took part in practical sessions and in meetings with Chinese specialists and coaches, and exchanged experience on modern training methods, on identifying and developing talent, on motivating young athletes, on psychological preparation, on inclusion and on developing sporting infrastructure.
An important moment of the visit was taking part in a sporting tournament, which gave the members of the delegation a chance to put what they had learned into practice and to meet athletes and coaches from other countries directly. In the competition, coach Arsenii Iacubenco took second place 🥈, representing the Republic of Moldova with distinction.
The experience gained, the exchange of good practice and the professional contacts made in China are an important opportunity for the development of table tennis in the Republic of Moldova, and will help improve the work of our coaches and bring in new methods of preparation.
