Ten medals for the Republic of Moldova at the Balkan U-11 and U-13 Championships
The Republic of Moldova's appearance at the Balkan Championships, held from 27 to 31 May 2026 in Albena, Bulgaria, ended with a remarkable result: 10 medals won by our young players.
The U-11 girls' team — Stoica Polina, Delev Paula, Gheorghiță Ilaria and Cocerva Nica, under the coach Patapi Alexandru — took the silver medal and second place in the team event.
In the U-11 girls' doubles, the pair Gheorghița Ilaria – Stoica Polina climbed to the second step of the podium.
Also in the U-11 girls' doubles, Delev Paula and Cocerva Nica took the bronze medal.
In the U-13 boys' singles, Bucur Nicolae became Balkan vice-champion, taking the silver medal.
In the U-11 girls' singles, Stoica Polina rounded off our delegation's haul with a bronze medal.
Congratulations to all the players for their commitment, their ambition and the results they achieved.
We would also note the very good showing of the U-13 mixed team — Bucur Nicolae, Mițic Alex, Prohorovici Andreea, Chironda Nica and Cazac Iulia, prepared by the coach Natalia Prohorovici — which finished in a creditable fourth place.
We also appreciate the performance of the U-11 boys' team — Vrănesco Matvei, Glodeanu Alexandru, Gorceag David, Panța Iulian and Albot Nicolai, coached by Adam Mihai — which took fifth place in the final standings.
