Republic of Moldova U-15 Championship

for girls and boys born in 2009 and later, “U-15”, 2024

On 6 – 7 April the Republic of Moldova Championship for girls and boys born in 2009 and later, “U-15”, 2024 was held. Nearly 100 children from all over the Republic of Moldova gathered for it. The national championship was fiercely contested, and served as a qualifying event for the European Junior and Cadet Championships in Malmö, Sweden, in July.

The championship was held in Bălți. Our young athletes played in three events — singles, doubles and mixed doubles.

In the boys' singles this year's champion was Leu Veaceslav (Chisinau), winning the final 3:2 against Barbu Denis (Dubăsari). In the semi-final Leu Veaceslav came through a dramatic match against Mișcișîn Andrei of Dubăsari, 3:2, after trailing 8:10 in the fifth set. The bronze-medal match brought together Moșneaga Matvei (Bălți)andMișcișîn Andrei (Dubăsari). With a 3:0 win Moșneaga Matvei took his place in the top three at the “U-15” Republic of Moldova Championship, 2024.

In the girls' singles the contests were no easier. The final brought together Cravcenco Valeria (Chisinau) and Delev Andreea (Bălți). Cravcenco took a fine win with fine play. The bronze went to Leșcinscaia Inna, who played the third-place match against Guliko Svetlana (Dubăsari).

2nd place – Barbu Denis – Traci Serghei (Dubăsari)

3rd place – Zgardan Răzvan – Nicic Igori (Bălți)

Mixed doubles

1st place —Moșneaga Matvei – Delev Andreea (Bălți)

2nd place – Leu Veaceslav – Cravcenco Valeria (Chisinau)

3rd place – Cravcenco Valeria (Bălți) – Mocrousov Maria (Chisinau/Dubăsari)
