🇲🇩🤝🇨🇳 An important meeting in Beijing between the Table Tennis Federation of the Republic of Moldova and representatives of Chinese table tennis
On 20 October, in Beijing, a meeting was held between Oleg Șaric, president of the Table Tennis Federation of the Republic of Moldova, and Ren Guoqiang, former coach of the People's Republic of China national table tennis team and a member of the Expert Group of the Chinese Table Tennis Association.
🏓 Mr Ren Guoqiang is a major figure in the world of table tennis, with an impressive career in which he has coached numerous Olympic and world champions, among them Ding Ning, Kong Linghui, Liu Guoliang and Guo Yue. For his exceptional contribution to the sport he has been awarded the “Medal of the Republic”, the highest sporting distinction in the People's Republic of China, six times.
🇲🇩🇨🇳 The meeting covered the widening of cooperation between the table tennis federations of the Republic of Moldova and China, and the support the Chinese side offers in strengthening bilateral relations in sport.
An important point of discussion was the possibility of holding training camps and placements in China for athletes and coaches from the Republic of Moldova, an initiative intended to raise performance and to exchange experience with specialists of world standing.
This meeting is a significant step towards developing table tennis in the Republic of Moldova, and opens new prospects for cooperation with one of the strongest nations in the sport.
