Republic of Moldova Cup (seniors) 2024
On 22 December 2024 the Republic of Moldova Table Tennis Cup (seniors), 2024 was held. Eighty-four table tennis athletes took part, men and women.
The Republic of Moldova Cup (seniors) was held in the village of Avdarma (Gagauzia).

The Republic of Moldova table tennis cup (seniors) was held in a fine and friendly atmosphere. The federation was pleased to welcome our athletes who play for clubs abroad — Vladislav Ursu (a competitor at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games; bronze medallist in the men's doubles at the 2024 European championships), Evghenii Coșug, Cesar Cozmolici, Mihai Caminschii, Alexandra Chiriacova. The closing matches of the cup were full of emotion, and the younger generation rewarded their coaches with the intensity they brought to matches against more experienced opponents. If Vladislav Ursu's win was highly predictable, Vadim Piliponcic's silver was the sensation of the cup. Our respected veteran Vadim Piliponcic showed with his result that it is far too early to count him among the mere veterans of Moldovan table tennis.
Among the women the fight was no less intense. In the semi-finals Valeria Vieru beat Merenco Camelia 3:2, despite Camelia having led in every set and 2:1 in the match. Alexandra Chiriacova beat her compatriot Alina Pulucciu in the other semi-final, and then lost the final to Valeria Vieru, 1:3.
Maria Mocrousova took a confident win for the second time over the more experienced Inna Leșcinscaia of Bălți, 3:2. Anastasia Taucci of Avdarma, Lipcan Camelia of Chisinau and Andreea Delev of Bălți also played beautifully.
During the cup the athletes and coaches were given good food at breakfast and lunch at the expense of the Table Tennis Federation of the Republic of Moldova. The champions and medallists received cups, medals, diplomas and cash prizes.
The community of table tennis players of the Republic of Moldova expresses its gratitude to the federation's president, Mr Sarandi Ion, and its secretary general, Mrs Elena Mocrousov, and to the Main Umpires' Commission, represented by national-category umpires Mrs Natalia Smirnova and Mrs Elena Barbu, for running the 2024 Republic of Moldova Cup (seniors) to a high standard.
