A remarkable result for Moldovan table tennis
The Table Tennis Federation of the Republic of Moldova congratulates Alexandra Chiriacova, who, with her partner from Slovenia Sara Tokic, has reached the semi-finals of the women's doubles at the European U21 Championship in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
The road to the semi-finals was impressive:
Round of 32: a 3-1 win over the pair Eugenia Sastre (Spain) / Miriam Carnovale (Italy);
Round of 16: a 3-1 success against the Austrians Elina Fuchs / Nina Skerbinz;
Quarter-final: an emphatic 3-0 win against the pair Lilou Massart (Belgium) / Enisa Sadikovic (Luxembourg).
In the semi-final Alexandra and Sara will meet the pair of Veronika Matiunina (Ukraine) and Bianca Mei Roșu (Romania).
We also send sincere congratulations to the coach Serghei Ursu, who is beside her at this championship.
