Vladislav Ursu — bronze medallist at the European Table Tennis Championships

Vladislav Ursu has taken bronze at the European Table Tennis Championships. Playing in a pair with Austria's Maciej Kolodziejczyk, he reached the penultimate stage of the tournament in Linz, Austria, which secured both of them bronze medals. In the match for a place in the final the stronger side proved to be their opponents — brothers Alexis and Félix Lebrun of France, who won 3:0. Before that the Moldovan-Austrian duo had taken several wins: over the Croatians (3:2), the Belgians (3:2), a Croatian-Slovenian pair (3:2) and the Slovenians (3:0).

It is worth noting that Vladislav Ursu and Maciej Kolodziejczyk have been playing together for many years. In 2016 they became European youth champions.

Vladislav Ursu is the first Moldovan table tennis player to win a medal at a senior continental championship. Until now he had managed it only in cadet, junior and youth events.

We recall that this year Vladislav Ursu took part in the Olympic Games in Paris, becoming the first Moldovan in the history of table tennis to compete there.
